Spinout Spotlight

Some of the region’s most exciting future businesses will begin with research, innovation, and technical expertise developed inside our universities.

But moving from a promising spinout to a successful company takes more than the idea itself. It takes entrepreneurial experience, commercial judgement, networks, mentoring, and the right conversations at the right time.

In partnership with Northern Accelerator, Spinout Spotlight is designed to bring those worlds together and connect university spinouts with experienced entrepreneurs from across the North East.

Right now, our university spinouts are looking for practical guidance from entrepreneurs with commercial experience from years of building their own companies.

The spinouts have great ideas generated from research, innovation, and technical expertise developed inside our universities, and now they are motivated to move from promising spinouts to successful independent companies. From building sales pipelines, negotiating deals, raising finance, and marketing, we know entrepreneurs have the practical experience that can guide these next-generation founders.

If you’re an experienced entrepreneur or mentor, this is your invitation to join us, hear from the spinout entrepreneurs behind these new ventures, and to share what you’ve learned building your own business.

This session is delivered in partnership between Northern Accelerator and the Entrepreneurs’ Forum.
